As a parent you try everything to keep your baby happy and healthy.
Right from feeding them nutritious foods to ensuring proper safety and hygiene, parents often prioritise the needs of the little ones.
But one thing that often goes unnoticed is the cleanliness of baby utensils and especially baby bottles as their intricate design makes it tough to clean.
Here are some easy tips to clean baby bottles effectively:
1. Prep up
Before you plan to keep all the bottles and start clean, ensure that you begin with washing your hands thoroughly with soap and water before handling baby bottles to prevent the transfer of germs.
2. Rinse immediately
After feeding the baby, make sure you rinse the baby bottle every time. This is because it prevents milk and residues from drying up and paving the way for bacteria. Always wash the bottles with water or lukewarm water.
Before you start cleaning the baby bottles, dismantle the bottle and take all the components of the baby bottle, including the bottle itself, nipple, nipple ring, and cap, keep them on a clean surface. Then clean and sterilize everything separately.
4. Use a bottle brush
Invest in a bottle brush with soft bristles specifically designed for cleaning baby bottles. Use the brush to clean the inside of the bottle, the nipple, and the nipple ring. Scrub gently but thoroughly to remove any residue.
5. Choose a mild soap
Use a mild, baby-safe dish soap or a specially formulated baby bottle cleaning liquid. Avoid using harsh or scented dish wash that may leave behind residue or irritate your baby’s sensitive stomach.
6. Boil or sterilize
The best way to clean the baby bottles is by boiling or sterilizing them. Here are some simple tips to clean the bottles by following the process of sterilization and boiling.
Place all the clean bottle components in a pot of boiling water for at least 5 minutes. Ensure the components are fully submerged.
