#ImTiredOfThisLockdown Hashtag Trends on Twitter
The #ImTiredOfThisLockdown hashtag trends on social media as people share their lockdown experiences. South Africa is on day 137 of national lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.
According to the SA Coronavirus website, more than 3.25 million tests have been conducted with nearly 560,000 cases testing positive for the novel virus.
Due to the surging coronavirus cases, President Cyril Ramphosa banned transportation and distribution of booze ‘with immediate effect’ last month.
Since then, the mood has never been the same. But according to experts, it was a necessary step taken to help cope with the surging pandemic.

There is no way that this hashtag could have trended without a reference to alcohol. Another user mentioned that they never thought that their hands would enjoy 70 percent alcohol more than their hands.
This is because of the alcohol ban and the use of alcohol-based hand sanitizers to limit the spread of coronavirus.
I never thought yazi, not in a million years will my hands enjoy 70% alcohol than my mouth. #ImTiredOfThisLockdown Shem. pic.twitter.com/dl54jGck2k

It is now mandatory to wear face masks in public spaces and some people believe that it has made them unrecognizable in their pictures and selfies.

Perhaps one thing we should have anticipated is the creativity in face masks. There are different types of face masks and some companies are even using them for branding.
But some face mask designs are cheeky and outright hilarious. Whether they should be allowed in public or not is a story for another day.
