Miley Cyrus, the talented actress and singer, and daughter of country music legend Billy Ray Cyrus, was honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday.
The star, located on the pavement next to the Madame Tussauds building, was unveiled in a ceremony that included guest speakers Anya Taylor-Joy and fashion designer Donatella Versace. This marks the 2,845th star to be given by The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, and it is in the Recording category.
Miley expressed her gratitude on Instagram, saying: “Surrounded by my fans, who I owe it all to & Donatella Versace in Versace of course (same) and Anya Taylor-Joy in archival Bob Mackie looking like heaven. Days don’t get much better than this. Thank you to my team @crushmusic, @fanmade, @oliviarudensky, @creativeartistsagency, @columbiarecords, my momager @tishcyruspurcell, and Bill Sobel. Miley’s introduction into the industry was as Hanna Montana, a Disney Channel tween character who led a double life as a scholar by day, turned popstar after hours. The success of the show earned her a cult following of teenage girls across the globe. She seamlessly morphed from a child star to an adult star, creating hits that earned her the respect of the music industry.
She is a three-time Golden Globe nominee and Grammy Award winner for Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance for her hit song Flowers. These are just a few of Miley’s accolades, who continues to reinvent herself with the times to maintain her staying power as an entertainer.
