Pirates’ Likely Lineup to Face Durban City

Orlando Pirates are just one match away from claiming the 2025/26 Beway Premiership title, thanks to TS Galaxy’s 3-2 win over Mamelodi Sundowns. This result has brought the Sea Robbers to the brink of their first league title since 2012.

The only team standing in their way is Durban City FC, who they will face at the Orlando Amstel Arena on Saturday at 15:00. A win for the Buccaneers will see them crowned champions.

Predicted Starting Lineup for Orlando Pirates

Coach Abdeslam Ouaddou is likely to stick with the same starting lineup that secured a 3-0 win over Magesi FC last Saturday, barring any injuries or suspensions. The predicted lineup includes Sipho Chaine as goalkeeper, Kamogelo Sebelebele as right back, Nkosinathi Sibisi and Lebone Seema as central defenders, Deon Hotto as left back, Makhehleni Makhaula and Thalente Mbatha as central midfielders, Patrick Maswanganyi as attacking midfielder, Relebohile Mofokeng as left winger, Oswin Appollis as right winger, and Evidence Makgopa as striker.

Momentum Favors the Buccaneers

Orlando Pirates will go into the match against Durban City with confidence, having already beaten them 2-0 earlier this season at the Moses Mabhida Stadium. Evidence Makgopa and Patrick Maswanganyi scored the goals in that match. The team is also unbeaten in their last 11 league matches, with recent wins over Magesi FC and Stellenbosch FC.

Durban City, on the other hand, are under pressure after failing to win any of their last six Betway Premiership fixtures. Their most recent match ended in a goalless draw against Stellenbosch FC. However, they do have the confidence of recently winning the 2026 Nedbank Cup, which could make them a threat to Pirates’ title hopes.
