Chiefs to axe up to seven players, report claims

Kaizer Chiefs are set to make some significant changes to their squad after a promising campaign. The question on everyone’s mind is, which star players will be leaving the team as part of their rebuild?

Potential Exits at Kaizer Chiefs

Reports suggest that up to seven senior players have contracts expiring in June, including Gaston Sirino, Khanyisa Mayo, Zitha Kwinika, Bruce Bvuma, Dillan Solomons, Sibongiseni Mthethwa, and Pule Mmodi. While Mayo has shown glimpses of his form and Mmodi has proven to be a useful player in various attacking positions, the other five players are likely to depart. The club is also preparing a new contract for Brandon Petersen.

Season Finale Against Chippa

Kaizer Chiefs have already secured third place, so they will be going into their season finale against Chippa in a relaxed mood. Mduduzi Shabalala will not be participating due to his recovery from a broken arm. Additionally, Flavio Silva and Glody Lilepo will be missing the match due to suspension. On the other hand, Chippa has more at stake, as a win would guarantee their spot in the top flight for next season. The match is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 23 May, at 15:00, and will be broadcast on DStv Channel 202.
