DJ Tira new EP “21 Years of DJ Tira”, to be released soon.

DJ Tira, the famous South African DJ, Record Producer, Gqom, Kwaito and Afro House artist from Durban, is back to celebrates the 21 years of his career by announcing the release of a new project titled “21 Years of DJ Tira”.

will be available on 24th of August, made up with 6 Gqom and Afro-house songs, will feature the productions and vocals of some of the best South African artists such as Berita, Lungy K, Nomcebo Zikode, Joocy, Prince Bulo, Mampintsha, Ornica, Sneziey and Fey.

The EP was made available last week for pre-order / pre-save on Itunes and other music platforms, and it has one single already out, the song “Uyandazi” featuring Berita. Click Here to Pre-Order.

Who is DJ Tira

Mthokozi Khathi, or DJ Tira as he is known professionally, is the founder of the Durban based independent record label Afrotainment. DJ Tira is known for introducing and bringing to light artists such as DJ Fisherman, Big Nuz, DJ C’ndo, Dladla Mshunqisi and Q Twins

through label Afrotainment label. He also helped to introduce TNS to the industry and his Label TNS Records.

DJ Tira is one of the most influential figures in all South African entertainment, being part of the collective that discovered and started the Gqom music genre, which skyrocketed in popularity around 2017. He is also responsible for the “Fact Durban Rocks” brand of events that currently take place on the first Saturday of July and New Year’s Eve.
