Pirates set to release four players

The 2025/26 PSL season may see some significant changes for Orlando Pirates, with several key players potentially leaving the club. As the season draws to a close, transfer news surrounding Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs is expected to dominate headlines.

A few Pirates players have contracts expiring, while others have fallen out of favour with coach Abdeslam Ouaddou. This uncertainty could lead to some high-profile departures.

## Experienced Midfielder on Radar of Several PSL Clubs

Makhehleni Makhaula, the 36-year-old midfielder, is one such player whose future at Orlando Pirates is uncertain. Despite his age, Makhaula still attracts interest from several PSL clubs, according to a report by Soccer Laduma. His experience, leadership qualities, and consistency make him an attractive option for clubs looking to bolster their midfield.

## Bafana Bafana Stars Face Uncertain Futures

Tshegofatso Mabasa and Kabelo Dlamini, both capped Bafana Bafana players, have fallen out of favour with national team coach Hugo Broos and Ouaddou. To regain their place in the national setup, they will need to find new teams where they can play more regularly. Mabasa has already made the move to Stellenbosch FC, while Dlamini’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season, making him a free agent.

## R9-Million Defender Weighing Options

Orlando Pirates defender Bandile Shandu is set to leave the club at the end of the season, with his contract expiring. His agent, Mike Makaab, has confirmed that they are exploring other opportunities. In an interview with FARb Post, Makaab stated that Shandu is unlikely to stay with Pirates.
