Kelvin Evans Sentenced for Stealing Beyoncé’s Unreleased Music
Kelvin Evans, a 41-year-old man from Atlanta, has been sentenced to two years in prison and three years on probation for breaking into the car of Beyoncé’s choreographer and stealing a hard drive containing her unreleased music. Evans pleaded guilty to the charges before his trial was set to start in two weeks.
Theft and Arrest
The theft occurred when Evans broke into a rented vehicle while choreographer Christopher Grant and dancer Diandre Blue were stopped at a restaurant to eat. At the time, they were in Atlanta for Beyoncé’s leg of her Cowboy Carter tour. According to reports, Evans damaged the window of the boot of the car and stole two suitcases containing two computers, five jump drives of unreleased music, as well as footage, plans for the tour production, and past and future set lists. He also stole clothing, Apple AirPods Max headphones, and designer sunglasses.
Evans was later arrested and released on $20,000 bail. He was formally charged in October and initially pleaded not guilty in January. However, he rejected the plea deal last month and has since pleaded guilty.
Sentence and Recovery of Stolen Items
