Kaizer Chiefs Look to End Season on a High Note
Kaizer Chiefs’ 18-year-old goalkeeper Takalani Mazhamba has made his senior debut, while Luke Baartman gets his first start up front, alongside Naledi Hlongwane for his second appearance.
Starting Line-Ups for the Big Match
The Kaizer Chiefs starting line-up consists of Mazhamba, Cross, McCarthy, Miguel, Frosler, Maboe, Ngcobo, Baartman, Vilakazi, Velebayi, and Hlongwane. The substitutes are Petersen, Msimango, Mako, Sirino, Morris, Ndlovu, Mmodi, Chislett, and Phago.
Chippa United’s starting line-up includes Msibi, Modise, Kammies, Tshobeni, Kwayiba, Mosele, Mobara, Seabi, Matrose, Majadibodu, and Figareido. Their substitutes are Sithole (GK), Mfecane, Philander, Ntsundwana, Konqobe, Ndlovu, Bonani, Madingwana, and X Sithole.
Momentum Builds for Kaizer Chiefs
Kaizer Chiefs will host Chippa United at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Saturday, marking the end of their 2025/26 Betway Premiership campaign. This will be only the second meeting between the two teams this season, following a goalless draw at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in December.
Kaizer Chiefs are in high spirits, sitting third on the table with 54 points, and have gained momentum with back-to-back victories over Sekhukhune United and AmaZulu.
A Strong Finish on the Cards
With CAF Confederation Cup football already secured, the pressure has eased around Naturena. However, finishing the season with 57 points and three consecutive league wins would be a strong statement heading into the next campaign.
The team has also shown encouraging momentum in recent weeks, with several younger players making their way into the first team setup.
Chippa United’s Survival Battle
Chippa United, on the other hand, are fighting for survival. The Eastern Cape outfit is in 13th place with 25 points and is looking nervously over their shoulders, having suffered three defeats in their last five matches.
A positive result against Chiefs would secure their top-flight status without depending on results elsewhere, making them a potentially dangerous opponent.
