CD Projekt Red just announced that Cyberpunk 2077 will support cross saves. If you start playing on PS4 or Xbox One X/S, you will be able to continue your progress if after you decide to play on the new consoles, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
The game developer CD Projekt Red twisted a few days ago with the details on how this will work for the respective gaming platforms.
If you are playing the game on PlayStation 4, you will be able to continue playing it on PlayStation 5 with backwards compatibility.
This also means your save files from the PlayStation 4 will be compatible and you will be able to pick up the game at the same point where you’ve left off (as long as you are using the same PlayStation account).
There are 3 different options:
The steps for Xbox players are much easier, as every game the saves are uploaded automatically to the Microsoft Live Cloud. Smart Delivery allows you to continue playing the game on Xbox Series X/S from where you’ve left off on the Xbox One.
Make sure you are connected to the internet, so your saved data is uploaded to the cloud or connect both your Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S to the same network and use the system network transfer option.
Cyberpunk 2077 will be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia on December 10, 2020. It will be playable on both PS5 and Xbox Series X/S at launch, with a free next-gen version coming earlier 2021.
