Stormers Face Cardiff in URC Quarter

Stormers to Host Cardiff in URC Quarter-Finals

The Stormers will have an extra week to fine-tune their game ahead of the URC quarter-finals, which kick off next weekend. Their first opponents will be Cardiff, a team they lost to 22-16 away on Friday. The Stormers finished the league stages in third place.

The Stormers will host Cardiff in a rematch at the DHL Stadium in Cape Town next Saturday at 15:30. Coach John Dobson acknowledged that his team was beaten by the better side on the night. “We’re going to have to regroup quickly,” Dobson said. “We know what’s in this group and we’ll regroup quickly. We’re a very bruised team who were beaten by the better team on the night and we’ll have to do much better than this in the quarter-final.”

Dobson praised Cardiff’s performance, saying they were desperate and played with a strong attack and defence. “They put us under pressure defensively, got yards on us, very clever attack, and they were just really desperate,” he said.
