Former Chiefs Coach Eyed by African Football Giants?

Nasreddine Nabi has been out of a job since parting ways with Kaizer Chiefs in September last year, which marked the end of his brief stint in South African football. The team has since been led by his former assistants, Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef, on an interim basis until the end of the season.

Exploring New Opportunities

Despite being available for a new role, Nabi has taken his time and appears to be selective about his next move. Recent developments indicate that he has already turned down an opportunity to coach at Wydad Casablanca, a prominent African football club.

Wydad Casablanca is currently searching for a new coach after parting ways with Patrice Carteron due to a string of poor league results. The Moroccan club had considered Nabi as a potential candidate, given his experience in African football. However, the timing of their approach seems to have worked against their plans.

A Coach’s Perspective

Nabi explained his decision, stating, “The schedule of remaining matches until the end of the professional league, which is very close together, prevents me from coaching Wydad during this period.” He also added, “I offered to take over the technical management of the team officially, at the beginning of the summer break, that is, after the end of all competitions of the current football season.”

Future Prospects

Nabi’s decision to wait until the summer break to consider a new role suggests that he is taking a thoughtful approach to his next move. As the football season comes to a close, it will be interesting to see what opportunities arise for the experienced coach.
