Jacinta comforts Ngizwe’s wife after fire

Activist and former radio host Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma recently paid a visit to Floda Graé, the wife of Ngizwe Mchunu, on 13 May, offering her words of comfort. This visit came after the Mchunu family’s rural home in Umbumbulu, KwaZulu-Natal, was burnt down.

The incident has been making headlines, with Ngizwe Mchunu speaking out about the events that led to his home being torched. Notable figures such as Bonginkosi Khanyile, a member of the uMkhonto weSizwe Party, Zwakele Mncwango, the provincial chairperson of ActionSA in KZN, and Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma have shown their support for the Mchunu family.

Support Pours In For The Mchunu Family

In a video produced by Nhlaka Production, Floda takes Jacinta on a tour of her burnt rondavels. Floda, who allegedly separated from Ngizwe in 2024, mentions that the fire destroyed everything, including her clothes. She says, “My clothes are gone, I only have clothes that I brought with me from Cape Town.” Jacinta responds, “You’re still laughing, you’re strong.”

Floda has expressed her gratitude to everyone who has supported her during this difficult time, including Jacinta and her husband, for the food parcels and blankets they brought. She says, “I don’t know what to say, and I feel like a woman had a hand in this. Thank you so much. May God bless you guys.”

Ngizwe Mchunu Recounts The Incident

Ngizwe Mchunu has recounted how his home got torched in a video shared by Nhlaka Production. He says that while he was in Johannesburg, his wife’s sister phoned to tell him that three men came looking for him, and shortly after they left, the family realised that there was a fire. Ngizwe clarified that he has never encountered any enemies, especially from his neighbours, since moving to Umbumbulu in 2014.
