Sho Madjozi, Zozibini, Thuso Mbedu and other SA Celebs nominated for E! people’s choice awards

Five South African celebrities dominate this year E! People’s Choice Awards for the African Social Star of 2020 category and people have already started voting for their favourite.

Rapper, actress and poet, Sho Madjozi, Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi, Emmy Award-nominee Thuso Mbedu, magician Wian van den Berg and model Karl Kugelmann are the five nominated SA celebs competing for the ‘African Social Star award’.

Karl Kugelmann was available for the press conference and spoke about his journey on social media. “I originally only thought it was E! Africa and not E! Global.

I can’t fathom it.” The social media star who has millions of fans on TikTok said, “I remember having like a 1 000 followers. I’m very blessed and very grateful to whoever chose me for this award.”

He spoke about what it takes to have a big voice and influence in social media, urging people on being consistent and stick to the right content, “If I could break it down, you need to be able to do it every day.”

“Lighting and song choice doubles the number of views. Lastly, I try to post in the evening, SA time. Around the world, it is like 12. So they will be able to see my posts, too. That’s another tactic. The potential of this platform is exceptional.”

“SA’s Got Talent” magician Wian van den Berg said, “I started doing magic at 15, five years before I went on ‘SA’s Got Talent’. This is a massive honour. I have a thing for awards shows because I get to see the celebs that I love.”

Zozi urged voters on her social media to use all of their votes and vote for her, “Big news you guys! I‘m so honoured to be nominated for the E! People’s Choice awards! What’s so special about these awards is that the winner is decided by the people.”

To vote for me, please Tweet and use both the hashtags #ZoziTunzi and #AfricanSocialStar.”
