Chiefs’ Path to CAF Confederation Cup Qualification

Kaizer Chiefs’ Quest for CAF Confederation Cup Qualification

With the Betway Premiership trophy now out of reach, Kaizer Chiefs have set their sights on securing a spot in the CAF Confederation Cup. To achieve this, they must finish the season in third place. Currently, they occupy this position in the latest Betway Premiership standings, with four matches remaining.

A Strong Finish is Crucial

Kaizer Chiefs are in a good position to finish third, with a five-point lead over fourth-placed AmaZulu. They have 47 points from 26 matches, while AmaZulu have 42 points from the same number of matches. To guarantee a third-place finish, Kaizer Chiefs need to accumulate eight points from their remaining four fixtures.

Path to CAF Confederation Cup Qualification

To qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup, Kaizer Chiefs must either win three of their last four matches or win two and draw two of their remaining fixtures. Their next match against defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns will be crucial, as a loss could narrow the gap between them and AmaZulu to just two points if AmaZulu beat Golden Arrows. Therefore, it is essential that Kaizer Chiefs perform at their best against Mamelodi Sundowns.

Remaining Fixtures

Kaizer Chiefs’ remaining fixtures are:

  • Wednesday, 6 May: Mamelodi Sundowns vs Kaizer Chiefs
  • Sunday, 10 May: Sekhukhune United vs Kaizer Chiefs
  • Saturday, 16 May: AmaZulu vs Kaizer Chiefs
  • Saturday, 23 May: Kaizer Chiefs vs Chippa United

Challenges Ahead

Kaizer Chiefs will face tough competition in their remaining matches, including a encounter against AmaZulu in their penultimate match of the season. A win for Kaizer Chiefs in this match would significantly boost their chances of finishing third, while a loss could jeopardize their CAF Confederation Cup qualification hopes. Orlando Pirates fans will also be watching with interest, as a Kaizer Chiefs win could help keep them in the title race.
