Orlando Pirates fans are singing the praises of their Soweto rivals, Kaizer Chiefs, after Amakhosi’s 1-1 draw with Mamelodi Sundowns at Loftus Versfeld on Wednesday night.
This result has had a significant impact on the Betway Premiership title race, swinging momentum in favour of the Buccaneers. With a superior goal difference and a game in hand, Pirates now find themselves in a strong position as the season approaches its climax.
Pirates can still be crowned champions if they win their remaining three matches, provided Sundowns do not outscore them. Sundowns needed a victory to extend their lead at the summit and take a decisive step towards defending their title.
