Cape Town Marathon Expo Kicks Off
The 2026 Cape Town Marathon kicked off on Thursday, 21 May, with the opening of the Cape Town Marathon Expo at the Cape Town Stadium in Green Point. Runners and supporters have three days to enjoy an immersive Expo experience that blends world-class marathon standards with a unique African identity.
The Expo hosts race pack collection for all athletes participating in the marathon on Sunday, 24 May, as well as the 10km and 5km peace runs and the three trail runs taking place on Saturday, 23 May. More than 44,000 runners, family members, supporters, and spectators are expected to pass through the Expo.

The Expo is open on the following days and times:
- Thursday, 21 May: 09:00 to 19:00
- Friday, 22 May: 09:00 to 18:00
- Saturday, 23 May: 10:00 to 17:00
A Standout Feature: Fynbos Floral Display
A standout feature of the Expo is a Fynbos floral display curated by Leon Kluge and Tristan Woudberg, celebrating the extraordinary Cape Floral Kingdom. This world-renowned South African duo recently won the Best Exhibit in the Great Pavilion prize at the Royal Horticultural Society Chelsea Flower Show in the United Kingdom.
Registration Requirements
When collecting their numbers, runners need to present the official entry confirmation message received via email or WhatsApp, which includes their unique QR code. No late collections will be permitted on race day, so runners need to get to the Expo in time to register for their chosen event.
