Kaizer Chiefs Loan Duo Shine at Siwelele FC
Kaizer Chiefs players Samkelo Zwane and Happy Mashiane are currently on loan at Siwelele FC for the season. Both players are still contracted to Amakhosi and are expected to return to Naturena at the end of the current campaign.
Siwelele FC Coach Wants to Keep Chiefs Duo
Siwelele FC head coach Lehlohonolo Seema has expressed his desire to extend the loan spells of Zwane and Mashiane beyond the current season. Seema believes that with more time to integrate the duo into his squad, they can achieve their goals. He pointed to the challenges of managing a congested season ahead of the FIFA World Cup, saying, “I need to work with them from the beginning of the season, in pre-season, and then we set our goals.”
Seema’s Praise for the Duo
Seema clearly values both players and sees long-term potential in the duo. He added, “They are good players, and every coach would love to have them in their team, but unfortunately, time was not on their side because this team had to win games, and we had to save ourselves.”
Decision Rests with Kaizer Chiefs Hierarchy
While Seema is keen to retain Zwane and Mashiane, the final decision rests with the Kaizer Chiefs hierarchy. A report on Soccer Laduma claimed that the Siwelele boss made it clear that while he is a fan of their abilities, the logistics of a permanent move or an extension are out of his hands.
What’s Next for Zwane and Mashiane?
Ultimately, Kaizer Chiefs must now decide whether Zwane and Mashiane still form part of the club’s long-term plans or whether their futures lie elsewhere. The pair are due to return to Kaizer Chiefs once their loan agreements expire, but Seema hopes to keep them at Siwelele FC for the 2026/27 campaign.
